Webinar z Juliane Kaminski: Pies jako zwierzę socjalne: poznawcze rozumienie świata społecznego/The social dog: Dogs cognitive understanding of the social world
In this 2-day seminar, Dr Juliane Kaminski will give an overview and a summary of the state of the art of dog cognition research. In the last 2 decades research on dog cognition and research around the domestic dog in general has become very popular and a lot of new evidence emerged. Dr Kaminski will summarise some of this research in a way easy to follow and understand. The seminar will be structured in 2 distinct days. On day 1 Dr Kaminski will focus on research on the Evolution of domestic dogs as well as topics around general social behaviour of dogs (e.g. Dog-human communication) and on day 2 Dr Kaminski will focus more on topics specifically addressing questions in the area of cognition like how dogs understand their social and their physical surroundings. The specific questions and topics that will be addressed are listed below:

Evolution and Social Behaviour of the domestic dog
What do we know about the History and Evolution of the domestic dog. When and where did it all begin? How does genetic data contribute to our understanding of dog evolution?
What do we know about the differences between the Social behaviour of domestic dogs and wolves? Are dogs wolves?
What is the latest research on Dog-dog and dog human communication?
Day 2: Seminar with Dr. Juliane Kaminski
Latest research on Dog Cognition and Behaviour:
Social learning in dogs. Do dogs imitate? What are potential underlying mechanisms?
What do dogs understand about others’ perception? Do dogs understand when other can see things and when the can not?
How do dogs understand and interpret Human communication?
What do dogs understand about the physical world? Do dogs understand anything about quantities, causal relations etc?
Speaker:
Dr. Juliane Kaminski is Reader in Comparative Psychology at the University of Portsmouth and Director of the Dog Cognition Centre as well as the Centre for evolutionary and comparative Psychology. Her research focuses on comparative cognition comparing species like Dogs, wolves, apes and humans.
Podczas tego dwudniowego seminarium dr Juliane Kaminski przedstawi przegląd i podsumowanie badań dotyczących procesów poznawczych u psów. W ciągu ostatnich dwóch dekad badania nad zdolnościami kognitywnymi psów i generalnie badania dotyczące psa domowego stały się bardzo popularne i pojawiło się wiele nowych dowodów. Dr Kaminski streści niektóre z tych badań w sposób przystępny i przejrzysty. Seminarium będzie podzielone na 2 dni. Pierwszego dnia dr Kaminski skoncentruje się na badaniach nad ewolucją psów domowych, a także na tematach związanych z ogólnymi zachowaniami społecznymi psów (np. komunikacja pies-człowiek), zaś drugiego dnia dr Kamiński skupi się na tematach dotyczących konkretnie zagadnień z obszaru badań kognitywnych, takie jak rozumienie przez psy ich otoczenia społecznego i fizycznego. Konkretne pytania i tematy, które zostaną poruszone, są wymienione poniżej:

Ewolucja i zachowanie społeczne psa domowego.
Co wiemy o historii i ewolucji psa domowego.
Kiedy i gdzie to wszystko się zaczęło?
W jaki sposób dane genetyczne przyczyniają się do naszego zrozumienia ewolucji psów?
Co wiemy o różnicach między zachowaniem społecznym psów domowych i wilków?
Czy psy są wilkami?
Jakie są najnowsze badania nad komunikacją pies-pies i pies człowiek?
Dzień 2:
Najnowsze badania na temat zdolności poznawczych i zachowania psów: Społeczne uczenie się psów. Czy psy naśladują? Jakie są potencjalne mechanizmy leżące u podstaw?
Zdolności percepcyjne psów: Czy psy rozumieją, kiedy inni widzą, a kiedy nie?
Jak psy rozumieją i interpretują ludzką komunikację?
Co psy rozumieją o świecie fizycznym? Czy psy rozumieją cokolwiek na temat ilości, związków przyczynowych itp.?
Dr Juliane Kaminski jest wykładowcą psychologii porównawczej na Uniwersytecie w Portsmouth i dyrektorem Dog Cognition Centre (Centrum Zdolności Kognitywnych Psów) oraz Centre for evolutionary and comparative Psychology (Centrum Psychologii Ewolucyjnej i Porównawczej). Jej badania koncentrują się na analizie porównawczej zdolności poznawczych, porównując gatunki takie jak psy, wilki, małpy i ludzie.
